Helping organisations to hear and people to be heard since 1998.

Hello, I’m Jessie. Working across health, care and public services, I bring nearly 30 years of senior experience to the challenges that matter: navigating change, reaching people who are usually left out of the conversation, and finding clarity in complexity.

How I can help

Strategy, change and leadership

Working alongside senior leaders and Boards to: navigate complex environments with integrity and purpose; strengthen governance; and develop strategies that people genuinely believe in and have the confidence to action.

I’m particularly experienced in facilitating politically and emotionally sensitive environments where getting the process right matters just as much as the outcome.

Community, staff and stakeholder engagement

Designing and facilitating engagement that reaches beyond the usual voices. From national programmes to local conversations, I help ensure that what people say actually shapes what happens next.

I work relationally - the goal is always an ongoing dialogue between organisations and their people and communities.

I have award-winning experience working with seldom-heard communities as well as senior system leaders.

Thinking and learning partnership, facilitation and evaluation

Sometimes what you need most is a thinking partner alongside you rather than a formal deliverable. And sometimes you do need a proper report - particularly an evaluation of how well your engagement, involvement or change work is actually landing.

I offer coaching, mentoring, action learning, facilitation and training for leaders and teams. This is all alongside evaluation work that often explores how well people have been heard and involved.

    What if...

We made the most of community connectors - walking towards people and communities, not waiting for them to come to us?

    What if...

We drew on the relationships, capabilities and power of society to deliver health and care?

    What if...

We helped people to think differently? Step back, see the wood for the trees, and look at problems from a different perspective?

    What if...

We recognised that healthcare isn't just a service, but a collaborative human experience?

  • What if...

We stopped trying to solve problems created by a broken system?

    What if...

We co-created a shared purpose and endeavour with the people who use and deliver health and care services?

What people say

Jessie is one of the very best at what she does: expertly understanding the relationships, dynamics and context in any setting and gently challenging people at all levels to think differently and find solutions.

She is always clear, empathetic and compassionate, and yet unrelenting in her focus on people and communities. I'd take any opportunity to work with Jessie and recommend her as a collaborator without hesitation — she thinks the way we all need to be thinking for the future in healthcare.”

— Charlotte Williams, Deputy CEO, North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust

Jessie is the most effective, capable and intuitive strategic facilitator I've ever worked with. She somehow manages to carve a path of clarity and shared purpose which supports consensus building and unlocks progress.

Jessie works effectively and builds rapport with senior leaders and members of the public alike. If I needed a facilitator who could be put in any situation and rapidly assimilate the context, dynamics and personalities in order to achieve a meaningful outcome, I would choose Jessie.”

— Zoe Gray, Deputy Director for Public Partnerships, NIHR

I whole heartedly recommend Jessie. Her approach, flexibility, expertise and good humour have been an absolute game changer as we have progressed politically sensitive strategic development and change.”
